Dear Sir/Madam.

The Red Cross Society Orphanage Center, request your assistance for the
benefit of the less privileged babies and orphans in our center here in
Abia State Nigeria.

Introduction
In our center relief comes primarily from local, grassroots efforts with
little outside financial support. One such effort, the Rose Ilogbo
Orphanage, provides housing and care for 400 orphans State Nigeria, West
Africa. Orphans live a derelict life on the
street. They are helpless children because either both parents have died or
their mothers were deserted, widowed, or divorced; or they came from an
unwanted pregnancy. Consequently, they are left
without love, care and support and must carve out a bleak existence on the
street. They quickly become involved in anti-social and criminal activities
in a cruel struggle to survive.

To make matters worse, our children in the center are often subject to
social ostracization and isolation due to deeply-held traditional beliefs.
This creates a significant challenge for potential caregivers to rescue and
care for them. Regardless, the Red Cross
Society Orphanage Center a strategically located Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO) is currently providing Essential Services to 400
helpless children in Abia State Nigeria, West Africa.

_Mission_
The mission of the Red Cross Society Orphanage Center is to provide for up
to 400 children with safe and reasonably normal life through the provision
of shelter, food, and education and to find them foster homes.

_Proposal_
The Red Cross Society Orphanage Center seeks funding to expand its current
capacity to serve up to 400 babies and children in Abia State Nigeria,
West Africa. Specifically, we want to hire more caretakers, teachers,
vocational instructors, cooks, attendants, watchmen and securities. A
private doctor and five nurses.A budget is available upon request.

_History_
In 2010 Dr. Gertrude Uchendu started a day-care service initially service

Then, in 2013, her exemplary service to these children was recognized by
the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs Community and Social Development.

The Red Cross Society Orphanage Center opened on 16th March 2010. At
one point, some children were successfully released to foster homes.

_Current Status_
There are babies and children at our Orphanage
center
Expenses to
manage the facility are currently met through local donations of food,
beverages, clothing, and toiletries; minimal monetary donations from
well-meaning individuals; and from the personal income and efforts of Dr.
Gertrude Uchendu.

_Qualifications_
For three years the Red Cross Society Orphanage Center successfully
provided our children a safe and reasonably normal life through the
provision of shelter, food, and education. The children were taken off the
street.

All children at Red Cross Society Orphanage Center are registered in school
and provided with two sets of uniforms and one set of books. They are given
three nutritious meals per day but have limited opportunities for indoor
and outdoor recreation as well as training in crafts and hobbies.

The Orphanage gets assistance from volunteers and other local citizens; the
local police department; and the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs
Community and Social Development.
